Hi, I’m Stu Roberts, a professional drummer and educator with over 30 years of experience performing, recording and teaching.

 

PERFORMANCE

I began my professional drumming career performing on cruise liners and have since worked across a wide range of musical settings, from West End productions and national tours to recording sessions and live artist shows. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of performing with artists including Take That, Lulu, Kiki Dee, Toyah Willcox, Brian May, East 17, Kerry Ellis, The Dhol Foundation, Alexandra Burke, Beverley Knight, Eric Idle, Talvin Singh, Evelyn Glennie and many others. My theatre credits include productions such as The Rocky Horror Show, Spamalot, Jersey Boys and Sister Act. I currently perform with Toyah Willcox.

 

TEACHING

Alongside performing, I have extensive experience as a drum and percussion educator. I have taught at institutions including ACM, BIMM and the Royal Military School of Music, and I currently hold the position of Visiting Percussion Teacher at City of London Freemen’s School. My teaching draws on decades of real-world professional experience, helping students develop their technique, musicianship, confidence and performance skills.
